The children at All Saints Church of England Primary School in Coalville recently enjoyed a visit from Bishop Saju who stopped by to join their lunchtime club, ‘Shine Squad’, which meets weekly to learn about faith in a fun and interactive environment.

A small team from the Diocese of Leicester recently travelled to our Link Diocese of Trichy‑Tanjore in the Church of South India (CSI) to strengthen long-standing partnerships, share ministry expertise, and deepen intercultural connections. The visit - our first since the Covid pandemic - was Intercultural and Intergenerational Ministry in action, a reconnecting of communities, with the group returning to Leicester feeling spiritually inspired and energised.
Lay Minsters from all over the diocese in their many roles and with their varied gifts, came together in worship, fellowship and shared learning, bringing their questions and offering support and encouragement to one another. Around 50 lay ministers gathered on Saturday 7 March at St Martins House in Leicester for a packed programme.
After several months of preparation, opportunities to engage with the work of General Synod and an open applications process, Joel Plant from the Diocese of Leicester was selected as one of five young people invited to step directly into the national decision‑making space of the Church.
