Stand for Synod

New members are being elected to General Synod this year – and you are invited to stand as a candidate.  General Synod is the national assembly of the Church of England. It shapes and approves laws that affect the whole of the Church of England. It agrees new forms of worship, debates matters of national and international importance, and approves the annual budget for the work of the Church at national level.

Preaching Well Learning Community 2026

A new Learning Community for preachers and potential preachers will launch in the diocese this October. Led by Bishop Saju, the course focuses on the craft of preaching, its content, and the character of the preacher.

Lay Ministers - a Source of Hope and Beacons of God’s Presence in Our Diocese

Lay Minsters from all over the diocese in their many roles and with their varied gifts, came together in worship, fellowship and shared learning, bringing their questions and offering support and encouragement to one another. Around 50 lay ministers gathered on Saturday 7 March at St Martins House in Leicester for a packed programme.
