Please help maximise participation in the INEQE Safeguarding Audit surveys across your church community before they close on 5 August 2026.
We are grateful to everyone who has already taken the time to complete the survey(s), which form an important part of the INEQE Safeguarding Audit of our diocese and cathedral.
The audit helps ensure our churches and communities are safe, welcoming, and supportive for all, and the surveys gather valuable feedback about safeguarding practice and culture across the diocese.
We know that not everyone will find it easy to take part in an online survey and encourage churches to consider alternative ways to ensure as many people as possible have the opportunity to have their say.
Please consider these practical ways to help more people take part:
Promote the surveys clearly
- Show a notice slide on screens at services - Download
- Speak briefly after services, activities or meetings
- Use Bishop Martyn’s short film - YouTube - Download
- Include a short item in newsletters and pew sheets - See template here
Make access easy
- Remind people that every survey includes a translation facility
- Plan times after services or activities when devices are available
Support participation
- Ask those working with children to create a space in sessions for young people aged 13 and over to complete the survey, if they'd like to
- Identify people who can help others get online
- Read questions aloud, or write down responses where needed
- Publicise any times when support will be available, so that people know when and where they can get help to take part
We are grateful for any support you can offer your worshipping communities in this.
If you have not yet completed the survey, we warmly encourage you to do so by 5 August 2026 - your feedback is important and valued.
Look out for the survey link on pink posters and postcards in church, and find out more here.
