Safeguarding Sunday - 15 November 2026

Safeguarding Sunday is just four weeks away and we would love to see as many worshipping communities across the Diocese of Leicester as possible take part.

It’s an opportunity to use your Sunday service to reflect on how we can create safer spaces for everyone, to listen and learn together, and to recognise the many volunteers who work behind the scenes to make safeguarding a priority.

It’s also a chance to demonstrate a shared commitment to safeguarding and to explore what a safe and welcoming church community looks like in practice.

This year’s theme, Love Protects, encourages churches to see safeguarding as a practical expression of care, protection and love for one another.

A range of resources, including service planning materials and ready-to-use content, is available to churches that register to take part.

Safeguarding Sunday is an annual awareness campaign led by Thirtyone:eight, the UK’s leading Christian, independent safeguarding charity.
