Creationtide, or the Season of Creation, is the period in the Church's annual calendar from 1 September to 4 October dedicated to celebrating God as Creator and Sustainer of all life.
It is a time to give thanks for the gift of creation and to renew our commitment to care for God's world through prayer, worship, learning, and practical action.
This year's theme is "Living Water", inspired by Ezekiel 47:1-12. In Ezekiel's vision, God's life-giving water flows from the temple, bringing renewal to a desolate land, restoring damaged waters, and transforming everything it touches. The theme invites us to reflect on God's power to bring healing and hope to creation today. You can find out more by visiting the Season of Creation website.
Throughout September, we will be sharing stories, reflections, and resources to help us explore what it means to be faithful stewards of God's creation.
A significant contribution to this conversation is Hope for All Creation: A Theological Response to the Environmental Crises, a teaching document that encourages us to "see, reflect, and respond" to the environmental challenges facing our world today.
The book reminds us that God's purposes extend beyond humanity to the renewal of all creation. Rooted in Christ's reconciliation of all things, it offers a vision of hope while challenging churches and individuals to integrate care for the natural world into worship, mission, and everyday life.
During the Season of Creation, this resource provides an excellent opportunity for study, discussion, and spiritual reflection.
Together, we can celebrate the beauty of God's world, face environmental realities honestly, and live with hope as faithful stewards of creation.

This year marks ten years of A Rocha UK's Eco Church programme, which has encouraged churches across the country to express their care for God's creation.
We are holding an Eco Church Conversations day, to celebrate all that our churches and communities have achieved on their environmental journey.
As part of the celebration, we would love you to bring an A4 picture or short story showcasing one thing your church has done during its Eco Church journey, so we can inspire each other.
The day will include a time of worship, celebration and inspiration from Bishop Saju and our Link Dioceses, followed by a choice of engaging one-hour workshops, including Climate Literacy and Greener Gardens.
There will be opportunities to connect with a wide range of organisations and experts offering practical advice on:
- Using the Energy Footprint Tool
- Infrared heating
- Bat conservation and protection
- Composting
- Working with Friends of the Earth and Climate Action Leicester & Leicestershire
- Sustainable transport for individuals and churches
And many more resources and opportunities to support your Eco Church journey.
There will also be delicious food available from Kings Coffee House, serving their popular "Zero Waste Meals" on a pay-as-you-feel basis.
