We’re rather excited here in the Diocese of Leicester about the imminent visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Dame Sarah Mullally, this weekend (12 and 13 September).
We cannot wait to show her our wonderfully welcoming and diverse diocese, as she makes the pastoral trip to spend time with God’s people in our Cathedral, churches, schools, chaplaincies and wider communities, as well as help begin our centenary celebrations.
Archbishop Sarah said: “I am really looking forward to joining you this weekend in the Diocese of Leicester, to worship and pray together, to visit rural churches, chaplaincies and interfaith groups - and of course to celebrate 100 years of such a diverse and vibrant diocese.
“I am grateful to Bishop Martyn for his invitation. It will be a joy to witness God at work there, and spend time with you all.”
