It is with sadness that we announce the death of The Revd Janet Dudley, aged 90, on Thursday 21 May 2026.
Janet was ordained Deacon in Leicester in 1989 serving as Assistant Priest at St Andrew, Countesthorpe with Foston until 1994, when Janet became one of the first women to be ordained Priest.
From 1994 Janet served as Assistant Priest of Arnesby with Shearsby and Bruntingthorpe, until her retirement in 2001. Janet then served from 2002 until 2010 as Associate Priest of St Dionysius Market Haroborough.
Janet held the Bishop’s Permission to Officiate in this Diocese for a brief spell from 2001 until 2002 and then again from 2010 until 2022.
Janet’s funeral is to be held on Monday 15 June 2026 at 2pm, at St Dionysius Church, Market Harborough, to which all are welcome.
