It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Anthony Simons, affectionately known as Tony, aged 76, on Friday 3 July 2026.
George first attended St Andrew’s, Jarrom Street at the age of 4 and had since gone on to be a wonderfully committed Churchwarden and PCC member. He was a huge part of the church community for decades, serving in many ways including as an Altar Server and Eucharistic Minister.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Margaret and sister, Wendy.
The reception of Tony’s body will be on Tuesday 28 July at 5pm followed by a Requiem Mass on Wednesday 29 July 2026 at 11am, at St Andrew’s, Jarrom Street, to which all are welcome.
His burial will be at 1pm at Saffron Hill Cemetery attended by immediate family only.
